Commemorating ANZAC Day

On Monday afternoon our Yr. 6 leaders, under the guidance of our wonderful APRE Mr Thomsen, led a moving liturgy to thank God for the sacrifices made by our service men and women to allow us to live in our safe and peaceful nation. ANZAC Day is a time to consider how fortunate we are to live in the “Lucky Country”. Our children hold the key to a peaceful and just society in the future. Their reverence throughout Monday’s prayer ritual demonstrated the level of respect they have for those who gave their lives for us.

I am grateful to the students who were able to represent St Stephen’s at Thursday's ANZAC Day march and service at the Sunnybank RSL. The fly over by an Airforce jet was a highlight for the children. A special mention of Lucy and Ryan who laid a wreath during the service. They proudly represented our great school at this special public event.
